DFC takes pride in our team’s continuous growth at all levels of the business. Following the success of last year’s inaugural New Starters event, we had the pleasure of welcoming nine new starters for 2024 to a fun-filled day of team building at our Leeds office.

To keep things enjoyable and avoid any cringe-worthy icebreaker scenarios, we used our favourite ‘Pecha Kucha’ style presentation. In this format, each person shared their responses to the same seven questions, paired with seven images and had just twenty seconds to explain their choices.

Aman Vora, one of our new Graduate engineers, shared his thoughts;

“The event was a great way to get to know each other, with the Pecha Kucha giving a small, light-hearted insight into each person. It was a lot of fun and a nice start to working at DFC.”

Our Directors and Associates also introduced ‘A Rough Guide to DFC’, which included our company history and values, an introduction to our ‘ten commandments’, highlighted some learning opportunities and outlined the exciting plans in store for this coming year.

A delicious team dinner at a local Italian eatery and a game of ‘Leeds Bingo’ added to the laughter and camaraderie!

Faith Ojomo, our new Apprentice said;

“I had a great time at the event! It was a fun way to get to know my colleagues in a more relaxed setting, and it gave me the chance to chat with people I might not usually talk to.”

For Iolanda Del Prete, our new Associate, this welcome event really cemented that moving to pastures new was the right choice;

“It was a great pleasure to attend the New Starters’ event…We had a very busy schedule packed with inspirational presentations and social activities. After yesterday event, I strongly feel that DFC has the perfect environment for me to continue delivering exciting structural fire engineering, surrounded by great minds.”
