We are delighted to welcome back our two former Summer Placement students, Aman Vora and Andy Caba as they join us as Graduate Engineers to embark on a new chapter in their careers in fire engineering.

Aman Vora, Graduate Engineer, London

Aman joined DFC as a Graduate Fire Engineer in our London office. He recently graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London. Throughout his studies, Aman developed a solid foundation in engineering principles, including technical design, heat transfer, thermodynamics, and finite element analysis. For his final year project, he conducted research on heat treatment techniques aimed at producing high-performing dual-phase steels specifically designed for the construction industry. His summer placement at DFC in 2023 provided him with an insightful introduction to fire engineering. Outside of work, Aman enjoys travelling, playing field hockey, and watching sports. He loves spending time outdoors and often seeks opportunities to enjoy sunsets from scenic viewpoints.

Andy Caba, Graduate Engineer, Leeds

Andy recently graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a degree in Structural Engineering and Architecture. His thesis on the combustion behaviour of UK-grown timber was guided by Dr Angus Law, a Senior Lecturer in Fire Safety Engineering at the University of Edinburgh and is anticipated to be published soon. Inspired by his mother, an architect, Andy developed a strong interest in fire safety through targeted professional courses. During his studies, he completed an internship with DFC in 2023, where he gained hands-on experience, and deepened his understanding of fire engineering. In his spare time, Andy enjoys cooking, exploring new cities, and brewing beer. He is always planning his next adventure holiday and also loves hosting parties.
