Manchester and London Projects Shortlisted for RIBA Regional Awards 2023
We are delighted to see two projects that DFC provided fire engineering services for have been shortlisted for the RIBA Regional Awards 2023: Tower of Light and Wall of Energy, Manchester and the National Youth Theatre (NYT), London.
Designed by Tonkin Liu for Manchester City Council in partnership with Vital Energi, Tower of Light and Wall of Energy is among the ten remarkable projects shortlisted in the RIBA North West Awards. This aesthetically striking project is a district heating network that generates new low-carbon power, heat and hot water for the city, helping Manchester to reach its ambitions to be carbon-neutral, climate resilient and zero waste by 2038. Project engineer: Matt Whitehead, Senior Engineer.
Shortlisted for the RIBA London Awards, the National Youth Theatre (NYT) by DSDHA is also one of the ninety-two outstanding projects nominated. Conceived as a national ‘Creative Production House’ the NYT offers the opportunity for young people to develop their talent alongside professional rehearsals. Project engineer: Francesca Ravenhill, Senior Engineer and Analyst.
DFC is proud to have provided fire engineering expertise on these two outstanding projects, in two very different sectors, having assisted the clients and the wider team to achieve their desired fire safety outcomes which led to successful schemes.
