Overview of the role
DFC is currently recruiting for our 2026 Graduate Engineer positions.
We are seeking graduates to join our team of over 40 skilled fire engineers across our UK offices. In this role, you’ll be involved in all aspects of fire safety engineering.
DFC prides itself on the continuing investment, training, and development of our team.
We are committed to ongoing in-house training programmes as well as regular external CPDs (Continuing Professional Development). We have strong connections with both academia and the fire safety engineering industry, and we are committed to supporting your journey towards Chartership through the Engineering Council and Institution of Fire Engineers.

Suitability
To thrive in this role, you should have the following qualifications, attributes, and skills:
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in a relevant STEM (science, technology, engineering, or mathematics) field.
- An understanding and ongoing interest in the developing fire engineering industry.
- The ability to solve problems, enable the new, and question the ‘norm’.
- The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, design team members, clients, and other key stakeholders.
- The willingness to continuously learn, develop, and contribute to a growing independent, employee-owned consultancy.
- The ability to adapt, multitask, and take pride in one’s work.
- The ability to converse technically in English with precision and clarity.

- You have graduated since June 2025 or you will graduate within the next 10 months; and
- You have less than 24 months of relevant work experience (excluding placements) since graduating.
