Project Description
DFC provided fire engineering services for the refurbishment and reopening of Stages 7, 8 and 9 at Elstree Studios, one of the UK’s most established film and television production campuses. The project comprises the reactivation of the historic sound stages, production offices, connecting walkways and a basement car park. DFC developed a site-wide fire strategy that addressed the interconnected nature of the site while accommodating the operational demands of a modern studio environment. The strategy supported the continued use of existing studio infrastructure while providing a robust framework for future productions. The project demonstrates how fire engineering can facilitate the sensitive adaptation of historic buildings while meeting modern fire safety requirements.
