Waqas Haider

Engineer

Waqas joined DFC in September 2020. He has a Civil/Structural engineering background. He studied International Master of Science in Fire Safety Engineering (IMFSE) at Ghent University, Lund University, The University of Edinburgh and The University of Queensland.

Waqas developed his interest in fire safety engineering while working as a Structural Engineer on a hydropower project in Pakistan for 3 years. He also gained experience in procurement and project management.

During his master’s degree, his research related to the fire response of steel structures. His key interests include numerical fire modelling, performance-based design and structural fire engineering.  He is also keen to work on developing fire strategies for the construction phase of projects.
