Project Description
The Met is a popular performing arts venue in Bury, Greater Manchester, originally opened in 1980. The refurbishment project emphasised on increasing the theatre’s capacity by removing a shared escape stair with the adjacent Athanaeum House and redesigning the bar, foyer and entrance lobby for a better visitor experience.
DFC created a new escape strategy that makes use of the existing exits, allowing the theatre to meet its capacity goals without needing an extra external stair. This refurbishment has helped The Met maintain its status as an important cultural centre in the community.
