Project Description
The Ancoats Mobility Hub was an innovative project in Manchester’s Ancoats area, designed to support the development of Poland Street. It featured designated parking for residents and visitors to reduce local congestion while promoting sustainable transport within a community-focused framework. Key elements included 150 secure bike spaces, 102 electric vehicle charging points, 406 car parking spaces, and green walls, all improving the local green space. To mitigate fire risks associated with the green walls, non-combustible materials and low-flammability plants were used, alongside adequate firebreaks and clear access for emergency services.
