Adeyanju Oluwa
Senior Engineer
Adeyanju joined DFC in 2019. She has a Civil/Structural Engineering background with a Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering from Imperial College London. She also has a PhD in Blast and Structural Fire Engineering from Imperial College London.
Adeyanju previously worked as a Structural Engineer on a range of bridge and building projects from design to construction phase in Nigeria. With substantial research experience, she also has technical expertise in designing structures to withstand extreme loading conditions in particular, explosions and travelling fire using performance-based methods.
At DFC, she has developed fire safety strategies for several buildings including warehouses, office buildings, residential buildings and mixed-use developments. She has also used her knowledge of Structural Fire Engineering to solve fire engineering problems in office structures.
Adeyanju has also received the Excellence Award (Engineer) at the 2025 Women in Fire Safety Awards, for her contributions on fire engineering initiatives, demonstrating technical expertise, leadership and a dedication to advancing best practice in the industry. Her key interests include numerical fire modelling, programming, problem solving, project management and structural fire design.
