Senior Commercial Officer

Kirstie joined DFC in September 2021 as our Commercial and Contracts Compliance Officer, a role introduced in response to the company’s significant growth. She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) and recently completed a Master’s in Construction Law and Practice (LLM) with distinction at the University of Salford, which she pursued part-time alongside her full-time role at DFC. Kirstie has also been recognised as Diversity Champion at the 2025 Women in Fire Safety Awards, in acknowledgement of her leadership and continued commitment to equality, diversity, equity, and inclusion at DFC.

With over five years of experience in negotiating construction contracts and supporting commercial initiatives, Kirstie previously served as a Legal Risk Executive at a well-respected fire engineering consultancy.

In her role, Kirstie oversees contract management and negotiations, working closely with clients to establish mutually beneficial agreements. Her deep understanding of the professional indemnity (PI) market, risk management, contract law and the common law makes her an exceptional negotiator, balancing the protection of our interests with the careful management of our clients’ expectations.
